Black Relationships And Love Article

Kings and Queens don’t compete against one another. They support, encourage, and help each other out to the best of their ability. They fully understand that they’re a team. His success is her success and her success is his success.

They build each other up, NEVER tear one another down. They choose their words wisely when they speak. They understand the power of words once spoken.

They love each other for who THEY are. Respecting one another’s uniqueness, flaws in all. They understand that nobody’s perfect.

They are faithful to one another. They wouldn’t dare entertain foolishness in their relationship. They both know what they have in each other, and no other man or woman could come between them, no matter what! Cheating is total disrespect! That’s not something that they’re willing to play with.

Kings and Queens complement each other very well. They make each other look good. When they step out, people can’t help but to take notice of their blessed union. Their love for one another is genuine and rare. The love that they share is simply beautiful!

The King respects his Queen and the Queen respects her King. Respect is a big deal! They understand that without it, there is no real relationship.

They are one! He feels her pain and she feels his pain. But together, they fight through it all. Giving up is NOT an option for them. They always rise above because they have each other. Together, they represent strength, courage, and wisdom. Their union is the real deal. Oh yes it is!

Communication is important to the both of them. It keeps their relationship healthy.

Their sex life is great! They don’t believe in withholding their love from one another. They don’t play childish games like that. Romance is NOT lacking in their relationship. No neglecting here! LOVE, LOVE, AND MORE LOVE.

They show their appreciation for one another because they understand the importance of doing so. Everybody wants to feel and know that they are appreciated. Everybody!

Never too busy for one another. They understand that “TIME” is valuable. They both understand that balancing work/life/school is of great importance. You should never be too busy for your loved ones.

Trust! Without it, any relationship is doomed. So with that being said, they are honest with one another, even if it hurts. They understand that lying to one another is just NOT worth it! It’s better to be upfront with each other because lying causes division and unwanted problems.

Neither one of them are selfish to a fault. They are both okay with compromising because they understand that you can’t expect to ALWAYS get your way. That’s just not fair to either one of them.

Kings and Queens are NOT perfect by any means. They have their bad days too. And yes, they have disagreements just like everybody else, but they don’t stay mad at each other for too long. They fully understand that anger, bitterness, and resentments lead to much greater problems. So they make sure that they communicate the problem once they’re both cooled off.

To have a love like this is unmatchable!

May all of you one day find YOUR King and YOUR Queen.

What a BEAUTIFUL kind of love this is! Absolutely Beautiful!

Natural Beauty is Sexy!

Ladies, you’ve got to learn how to embrace your natural beauty.

Let’s Talk Makeup

Don’t get me wrong, makeup is nice and all, but some of you overdo it. If you look totally different when you take your makeup off, you’re doing too much. Makeup should be worn to enhance your natural beauty, not make you look like somebody that you’re not.

You wear fake eyelashes, drawn on eyebrows, foundation, primer, bronzer, and so many other things that give other people the illusion that your skin is perfect when it’s not.

If you feel like you have to wear makeup to feel pretty, then I’m here to inform you there’s another problem going on within. You shouldn’t have to wear makeup to feel pretty.

In my 40 plus years, I’ve heard it all. Things like: “There’s no way I’d go out without makeup on. No, don’t look at me, I haven’t done my makeup yet. OMG, I look hideous today…I didn’t have time to do my makeup. I look scary without makeup.” And the list literally goes on and on.

It breaks my heart that most women don’t feel pretty without makeup on. If you don’t like what your bare skin looks like, I’d like to offer you some helpful tips.

Instead of hiding behind makeup, take care of your skin so that your natural skin will glow and be healthy. Find a good regimen for your skin that works for your skin type. You should cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize your face everyday.

I personally like to use Clinique. It’s a little bit on the pricey side, but it’s well worth it, and it lasts a long time. I also drink ample water, green tea, milk, and healthy smoothies with kale and/or spinach in them. I barely drink soda.

Not to sound vain, but if you look through my pictures, you will see that I barely wear makeup, and I NEVER wear foundation. I personally don’t think you need it if you take care of your skin properly. I don’t even wear blush, but many people think that I do. I have a red undertone in my skin and it shows when I’m REALLY hydrated.

People always think that I’m wearing foundation, but it’s a blessing to be able to tell them that’s it’s my bare skin. I’m telling you, if you take the time to REALLY take care of your skin every day, you’ll see a difference. You’ve got to allow your skin to breathe.

Many women go to sleep with makeup on or go for days without washing their face. That’s a NO NO. Cleanse your skin! Treat your skin right.

Here’s a Side Note for Some of You Women Out There...

Did you know that most men prefer a natural looking woman? They don’t mind a little makeup, but most don’t care for women who go overboard. It’s true!

Put yourself in their shoes. You think you’ve met a woman who looks one way, but when they take off their makeup, they look totally different. Just imagine! That’s not cool and it’s not fair. Show them who YOU really are. All women are beautiful! You just have to know how to bring it out without using makeup as a crutch.

Love yourself from the inside out, take care of your body from the inside out, and be comfortable in your own skin. Don’t allow makeup to define your beauty.

Rock the natural YOU with confidence!

SELF-CONFIDENCE is sexy ladies!

Accept yourself for who YOU are because you are beautiful!

Abusive Relationship That You Hide SO Well

Emotionally abused. Physically abused. Financially abused. Being abused is what you’ve become accustomed to. You think to yourself “How did I let this go on so long? How did I allow this to happen to me? Why haven’t I spoken to anyone about what I’m going through? How did I even get here?” Your abusive relationship is slowly killing you on the inside. You’re at your breaking point. It’s time for you to think about YOU for a change because you deserve way better than what you’ve been putting up with. You don’t deserve this! You DO count. You ARE important. You DO mean a lot to your loved ones. They care for you. Trust me, they do. You don’t have to put up with this abuse anymore. Reach out for help and don’t feel ashamed to do so.

Genuine love isn’t supposed to be emotionally draining. Name calling isn’t okay. Stop making excuses for it. Making you feel less-than is abuse. There’s no other way around that. You will be okay without him! He just makes you feel like you won’t. Think about what you were like before him. You had confidence! You felt great about yourself! You were outgoing and full of life! But look at you now. He’s broken you down little by little, just where he wants you to be. But enough is enough! You’ve got to get out of this mess. This is NOT your best life. This is no life at all.

He grabs on you, pushes and shoves you, holds you down on the bed and/or floor, punches you at times, just having his way with you when he wants to. He likes to toy around with you. Sweet and kind one minute, and then he’s right back at his evil ways. He demeans you as if you’re not worth anything. Your emotions are like a roller coaster. He has you up one minute, twisted the next minute, and then here comes the drop. He treats you like he owns you.  As if you are a piece of property. Telling you what to do and controlling your every move. He’s NOT a nice person, so stop making excuses for him. You know what he’s like and you can’t change him.  Don’t fool yourself!

He’s in control of the finances. He uses money against you. You have to ask him for everything. What he says goes. You don’t have any say so in the matter. You have money, but it’s like you don’t because he rules, and that’s that.

He’s taken your life away from you. You’re just being controlled. You choose to stay because you don’t want to feel ashamed and/or embarrassed of what others will say or think. You’ve been putting up with this hell for quite some time now. Pretending like you’re a happy couple. You’re a pro when it comes to putting on your happy face, wearing YOUR mask so flawlessly. You’ve put up a great front because nobody knows the hell that you’re going through but you and him. You have everybody fooled into thinking that you have a great relationship, but if they only knew that you’re just about to lose it. You’re holding on to a very thin string. You want out, but you don’t know how. You’re scared, confused, and nervous. And in a strange kind of way, you want to stay. You know the true him, but you make excuses for him and are torn as to what to do.

Instead of me TELLING you what to do, I’ll leave you with these inspirational quotes from me to you. Hopefully these positive quotes will give you the strength and courage that you need to leave your unfortunate and unhealthy relationship. Be brave!

Inspirational & Motivational Quotes

“Encourage yourself, believe in yourself, and love yourself. Never doubt who you are.” – Stephanie Lahart

“Crying is NOT a weakness. Cry as much as you have to. Don’t be afraid or ashamed to let your tears flow. Crying is a natural part of life. We all have feelings and sometimes crying is all that we can do. Crying can help relieve the pain, hurt, disappointments, and all of the other things that life can throw our way. Know that it’s okay and know that you’re going to be okay as well. Wishing You: Peace of mind, Comfort, Happiness, Joy within and LOVE.” – Stephanie Lahart

“Say it out loud: I AM beautiful. I AM worthy. I AM somebody. I DO deserve to be loved. I DO deserve to be respected. I DO deserve happiness. I will no longer accept less-than what I know I deserve. I don’t deserve that. And I won’t accept it anymore. I know my self-worth! I deserve the very best!” – Stephanie Lahart

“Though I may feel weak right now, I know the strength that lives deep down inside of me.  I will believe! I will have hope! And although my faith may be a little bit weary right now, I know I’ll make it through this. When I feel like I’m just about to give up, I somehow soar to the top. That’s because I’m a winner! It’s always a good idea to remind yourself of who YOU are. That’s perfectly okay!” – Stephanie Lahart

“Respect, Love, and Value yourself. Always remember to be good to yourself by taking care of yourself. Make yourself a priority and know that it’s okay. Don’t feel guilty for loving yourself, first! You’re just as important as anybody else. Remember that!” – Stephanie Lahart

“Tomorrow has not invited you yet, so LIVE for today! Tomorrow is near, yet so far away. Choose this day to smile, laugh, love unconditionally, and be happy within.” – Stephanie Lahart

“You are valuable! You are beautifully blessed just how you’re supposed to be. No matter what anybody else has told you, YOU rock!” – Stephanie Lahart

“Hello beautiful! Yes, YOU. Please realize just how special that you are. There’s no need for you to compare yourself to the next. You are unique, rare, and incomparable. You’re simply beautiful inside and out!” – Stephanie Lahart

“Self-worth. Self-love. Self-Esteem. Self-Motivation. Self-confidence. All of these things equal SELF-EMPOWERMENT. Always believe in yourself, even if nobody else does!” – Stephanie Lahart

“Dare to be bold and brave. Dare to believe that you can. Dare to live out your dreams. Dare to get out of your comfort zone. Dare to make positive changes in your life. Dare to live life without all of the extra drama and/or baggage. Dare to live your life fearlessly. Dare to TRULY live for once in your life!” – Stephanie Lahart

Light-Skinned Women And The Black Man

This passage is for the black men who make statements like: “She’s cute for a dark-skinned girl. Nah, man, I can’t date no dark-skinned sista. I’ll take a light-skinned sista over a dark-skinned sista any day. Dark-skinned sistas are ugly. She’d be fine if she was just a little lighter. Dark-skinned women have attitudes.” And the list literally goes on and on.

To the black men that speak so immaturely, foolishly, and ignorantly…Shame on you! How could you fix your mouth to disrespect your black sista like that? Where did you learn to hate the dark-skinned woman? Is it possible that you dislike yourself? Listen up! If you feel like you’re “the man” just because you’re with a lighter skinned girl/woman, I’m here to tell you, you’ve got some self-esteem issues yourself. And for the record: most of the men that prefer a light-skinned girl/woman are dark-skinned themselves. Imagine that! So with that being said, if you’re a dark-skinned brotha, but you can’t and/or won’t date a dark-skinned sista, you CAN’T possibly like yourself or the skin that you’re in.

Do you realize how silly you look talking down on our women of color? I’ll say it again: Shame on you! You were raised by black women in your family. Mothers, grandmothers, and aunts. And I’m pretty sure that somewhere in your family, you’ve got some dark chocolate. How do you view them? Are THEY ugly to you?

It’s one thing to have a preference, but it’s a whole other story when you so blatantly disrespect our sistas. Why must you be so ugly! Why must you keep up this garbage? Are you still brainwashed from behavior back in the slavery days? Light-skinned niggers verse the dark-skinned niggers. Yes, I said Niggers, NOT Niggas, because that’s just what we were referred to as. There’s nothing cute about downing our black sistas simply because they have dark skin. If anything, you should respect and cherish our Queens. But then again, I wouldn’t have to tell a real man such a thing, now would I?

Some black men need to grow up! All over social media making themselves look like fools. Why don’t you try educating yourselves on where all of this crap stems from? If you really and truly understood, I would hope that you’d have a change of heart the next time you fix your mouth to speak so negatively about the black woman. Black women are beautiful! Light, mocha, and dark. We are simply beautiful! Yes we are.

Get it together my brothas! You’ve got to do better. We don’t need our own brothas putting us down and talking about us as if we’re NOT good enough. That’s NOT cool and it’s NOT a good look. Why don’t you try standing up for dark-skinned women? Learn to appreciate their beauty. It’s bad enough that dark-skinned women AND men had it REALLY rough back in the day. And to think that our black men are keeping this up in 2016. What a shame! What an embarrassment! What an insult to the black culture as a whole.

Wake up my brothas! Degrading the dark-skinned woman is a negative reflection on YOU. You’re the one with the problem. You’re the one that needs to search within yourself to see what’s really going on in that messed up and confused mind of yours.

Stop downing our sistas because of their skin tone. That’s ridiculous and absolute nonsense.

In closing: Ask yourself

Why do I prefer light-skinned women over dark-skinned women? And please, don’t be so quick to answer that question. Really give it some thought. Is your answer that of a juvenile or a mature man with substance?

I’ll leave you with this: Why sell yourself short by choosing a woman based on what she looks like? 9 times out of 10, you’ll be sadly disappointed by who you chose because you just had to have what you call “the baddest chick.” A woman is much more than her body and looks. I get it! You want somebody who looks good, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. But where you mess up is choosing a woman solely based on looks. Why do you think so many men get played and/or hurt? They get so caught up trying to hook up with who has the fattest ass, hips, and thighs, that they can’t even see clearly what this female is really about. I’ll say it again: Looks are far too overrated, and I can say that confidently.

You’ll know when you’ve matured as a man when you clearly understand that just because a woman is light-skinned it does NOT make her the better pick. Don’t be so simple-minded. Try choosing a woman based on who she is. Things like personality, character, confidence, independence, etc. Choosing a woman based on looks alone can get you caught up, trust me!

And keep it real brothas, if you’re a dark-skinned male yourself, you know firsthand what these dark-skinned sistas feel like. Think!

• Research and educate yourself – What steps do you need to take?

• Go on YouTube and watch some helpful videos

• Google your question – click on well known sources for accurate information
